Hi @user_6c0098. The Spotlight Cam Plus Plug-In uses a USB-C power adapter. However, we wouldn't recommend using a third party power adapter with the Spotlight Cam. In this case, I'd recommend swapping the existing cable with the power adapter included with the Spotlight Cam Plus Plug-In.

The problem I'm having with the existing cable / power adapter included with the Spotlight Cam Plus Plug-In is the overall volume taken by the bundle of wires. I have the Spotlight Cam Plus mounted up in a corner, 4 inches from a wall power outlet, and there is not room behind the Cam to stash the entire cable/adapter. So I'm trying to use a USB wall charger and a short cable to the Cam. Things mostly work, but the (spot)light does not come on when motion is detected at night (or sometimes after a reboot the light comes on the first time motion is detected, but not after that). Motion activation of the light works great with the existing cable/adapter. I don't see how the issue can be power -- I'm using a 45W PD 3.0 USB-C wall charger (5V & 9V) with 240W rated USB-C cable. Manually the light turns on and off fine form the app. Any idea why motion activation of the light fails? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @user_8db558. As mentioned, we advise against using third party power accessories with your Spotlight Cam Plus. We are unable to test and guarantee performance of third party power accessories. For optimal performance, please use the provided power cable and adapter. You can use cable clips and sleeves, such as the kind used for managing computer cables, to help organize any extra cable length around the camera.

Thanks Caitlyn, for your response. I have a follow-up question I hope you can help with. For the stand along version of the power adapter Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter (USB-C), the "Box Includes" description lists an "Indoor AC Plug Plate". This plate was not included in the power adapter which is shipped with the Spotlight Cam Plus Plug-In. Substituting this plug plate for the Outside AC Power Cable would enable me to eliminate 2/3 of the excess cabling. How can I get just the Indoor AC Plug Plate? (see https://ring.com/products/indoor-outdoor-power-adapter-usb-c )
