Subscription plan

Hi So I’ve been paying £100 per year to cover 2 devices at my address & just discovered there’s a less expensive option that would cover both. My subscription ends next month so I cancelled one of the devices so it wasn’t renewed. This stopped immediately despite not ending till next month?? I would consider the plan covering both devices but unsure how this would work considering I’m supposed to be paid up till next month?
