O
morning "workflow"
we set up the sensors, motion detector, and alarm a few days ago. Every night and morning we have a little anxiety about whether or not we'll remember to disarm the alarm when we let the dog out in the AM. If we open a door without disarming in the morning, does it automatically setoff the siren or is there some sort of chirp or waiting period before the siren goes off? If not, are there any ways to deal with the potential of a siren waking up our baby when we let out the dog in the AM? Or do I just need to put up a reminder note for the morning so we don't setoff the alarm?

You need to setup a delay on your door sensor. Go here for how to do it. [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030784072-Setting-Ring-Alarm-Entry-and-Exit-Delays](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030784072-Setting-Ring-Alarm-Entry-and-Exit-Delays)

I did this (switched from 0s to 60s), waited a couple hours, and tried it out by opening the back door during 'home' armed mode. The alarm went off. Do I have to wait a certain amount of time until the setting are updated? The app appears to have saved the setting of 60s delay for both entry and exit.

Did you set the door sensor to Main door? "To use Entry and Exit Delays, set the Contact Sensor Placement setting to Main Door. Next, customize each delay for any time between 0 seconds (no delay) and 180 seconds (3 minutes). Just make sure you have enough time to arm and disarm your Alarm."

Awesome! Glad to hear it. Also, you can do the same thing with motion sensors by changing them to Entry way.

One issue is that we'd like it to be a louder type of chirp after it is triggered, but before it hits the "entry delay" or "exit delay". In other words, if somebody breaks in at night while we're sleeping, it'd take 60s before we'd hear it. Am I doing it wrong or are there any other solutions?
