Our Ring Alarm Gen2 (not the pro version) basestation is hardwired to an ethernet switch that bypasses our Google Fiber router. I did this because the Google Fiber router is in a room where I don’t want to put the basestation. Everything works just fine but I’m wondering if this is a bad idea. Is it OK to hardwire the basestation to internet without a firewall? If this is a bad Idea I can always use the basestation wifi instead.
Thanks.

Hi @hammick. It is safe to connect the Ring Alarm Base Station with an ethernet cable directly to your router.
