Try the troubleshooting steps outlined [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042739451-Troubleshooting-your-Contact-Sensor-1st-generation-) if you have a 1st generation Contact Sensor or [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042311972-Troubleshooting-Your-Contact-Sensor-2nd-generation-) if you have a 2nd generation Contact Sensor. Factory resetting the Contact Sensor and adding it back through the Ring app should help resolve and performance problems like what you're experiencing. I have this exact problem with my 1st gen contact sensor. It was working fine for the first 6 months, then one day I opened the window and it wouldn’t stop chiming, showing the window was being opened and closed about every 4 seconds nonstop. The battery shows a full green icon and measures 2.95+ volts. The Reed switch inside works correctly when tested with a magnet and continuity tester. The range is not an issue, as it’s about 10 feet away from the base station. Removing the sensor from the system and re adding it yielded the same exact behavior: rapidly alternating open/closed signals. The troubleshooting page offered above was useless.
