I have a Ring system with a doorbell camera, light on my driveway, and light on my back deck. I have two issues that I can't seem to resolve:1) When the driveway motion detector senses movement, and the light comes on, it will stay on for 30 seconds, shuts off for a second or two, then comes back on for 30 seconds, shuts off for a second or two, then comes back on for 30 seconds. It repeats this cycle for 12 cycles. Then stops. I cannot stop this cycle from my phone's app. If I turn off Motion Detection via my app, the lights will immediately turn off, but then the lights and the motion detection will come back on in a second or two. And the cyle continues. The only way to break this cyle to to turn off the light switch inside my home that controls power to that light. The motion detection history shows only the initial 30-second cycle.2) The back deck light will come on randomly in the middle of the night for 30 seconds, then shut off. My assumption is that if the light comes on that it was triggered by motion detection. However, there is nothing to show in the motion detection's event history. This is a random, one-time occurance, that doesn't happen every night, and doesn't cycle like the above issue. I can turn off the light either from my phone's app or by turning off the light switch inside my home that controls power to that light (that's assuming of course, that I'm not in bed and can get to my phone or the light switch within 30 seconds.)Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @user_ef688c. For the device that does 12 cycles of on/off, what specific model is this? Try resetting the device by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then releasing it.

For your other device, what specific model is that? For our devices that have lights, the motion detection range for the lights is greater than the distance for the camera. This can result in the light coming on without the camera recording anything. You can control this in your cameras Light Settings menu by adjusting the light sensitivity. Let me know if this helps.

I just got back to check to see if my post got any responses. Thank you for your response. All of my devices were installed at the same time, so I assume they're the same model. How do I find the model name/number? For the driveway light that cycles on/off, where do I find the setup button? For the back deck light I just went in to Device Settings / Light Settings / Light Sensitivity, and slide the bar from Max to half-way. I'll see if that makes a difference.

Hi @user_ef688c. The name of the device is typically listed under the Device Health tile, which you can access by tapping the menu in the top left, tapping Devices, then selecting the device you want to look at. It would also be helpful to know if the two lights you mentioned are in a Light Group, or if you have Linked Devices set up. There should be a Linked Devices tile as well.

Both of the devices I'm referring to are Floodlight Cam Wired Plus. Given that information, how do I reset the driveway device that's doing the 12 cycles of on/off? We have had a house guest the last few weeks, and I have turned off the power to the back deck light that was coming on randomly at night, as that light shines near her bedroom window, and I didn't want to disturb her in the night. As a result I have been unable to do a long-term test on my change to the Light Sensitivity.

@user_ef688c For the Floodlight Cam, you would want to turn the power off and then on at the breaker. I would also suggest checked to make sure the Floodlight Cams do not have any Linked Devices settings enabled. If this light cycling continues to happen, the next step would be to contact our support team directly, so they can take a closer look at what's happening on the back end. You can reach out @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram.

        1) Regarding the first issue - the driveway camera. I tried switching off the breaker. That didn't help. Per your suggestion to "contact our support team directly, so they can take a closer look at what's happening on the back end. You can reach out @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram", I will follow up with that. I realize I'm from an older generation, but it seems silly to me that I have to go to social media to contact the support team directly. I would assume that by going to ring.com I would have a higher level of confindence in the reliability of the feedback I'm getting as compared to social media. 2) Regarding the second issue - the back deck light. By sliding the light sensitivity down to about 25% I have not seen an reoccurance of the light coming on randomly in the middle of the night. I'm not quite ready to start celebrating yet, but my confidence is growing that that may have taken care of the issue.

@user_ef688c The Ring Community is a public forum, so while we can offer general troubleshooting guidance, we cannot look into account or device specifics like our support team can. Social media is just one of the methods we offer for customers to contact our support team for assistance. The other option is via phone at one of the numbers here: https://ring.com/support/contact-us/call. I'm glad to hear adjusting the light sensitivity has seemed to alleviate that issue.
