We recently bought new 4k cameras and installed one out of the two. When I went to install the other one that is located in an elevated electrical box, I noticed the old bracket was robust and encompassed any of the electrical boxes I could have on the side of my home. The old bracket which doesn’t work with the new camera mind you. 

The new mounting bracket was far too short. With only about a 16th of an inch holding the bracket on after I added washers. I contacted Ring and they have zero solutions for this issue. Even though previous models had the solution solved.

Which means a 15 minute installation means I have to rip this box out and get the one they designed this bracket for all so I can install a camera that wasn’t cheap.

Ring should have two sizes available for mounting and just provided those two brackets. So I’ve chosen not to bother with the installation and just stick with the older model.

I just can’t believe they had the solution and in the name of saving money for a cheaper bracket. Made a straight forward install a nightmare for anyone with the larger junction box. So now I play the waiting game as I try to find a solution to this problem.
