Can I create a smart lighting group without a smart light?

Question

I would like to use a smart lighting motion sensor to trigger a doorbell camera to start recording.  Sort of a long distance pre-roll so the Doorbell camera would start recording as cars come up my long driveway instead of when a person walks onto my porch.  So, before I start buying an Echo 4th gen (bridge) and a smart lighting motion sensor can I create a smart lighting group without any smart lights just the smart lighting motion sensor?

Hi @jwober. You can accomplish this with Linked Devices. You can learn about this here. Information regarding Light Groups can be found here. Additionally, you can use certain Echo Devices as a Ring Bridge which can have a multipurpose roll. More information on that here. Let me know if this is helpful.
