iOS Widgets Not Working Anymore.
Ok, so I was asked by Ring to come here and post my issue.
The issue is…
Since the early April iOS app update the iOS widgets don’t work.
They won’t let you access any 2K or 4K cameras.
I have 9 Ring cameras and when I edit the widget it only gives me an option to add 3 of them (the non-2K/4K ones).
Some ring staff have told me they’re aware of it and some have told me there isn’t a problem.
But there clearly is an issue because it’s all over Reddit and Facebook etc…
Anyone know what’s going on?
Thanks

I see you’ve posted a reply and accepted it as an ‘accepted solution’.
Sorry, this isn’t an acceptable solution.
You’ve known about this issue for almost a month and have done NOTHING to resolve it.
The reason we chose Ring was for the iOS Widgets!
My wife is disabled and relies heavily on the widgets.
Now she can’t use the cameras.
It’s really not good enough.

The response I got off ring that it was down to Apple. Always pass the blame

TReally?
I spoke to Apple and they have no clue about it and said they don’t control what Ring put on their widgets.
Ring just don’t care.

This is 100% a Ring issue. The day that the update happened, and I realised what was going on (ie it was a bug, after testing it on 3 other phones), I called Ring, and they’ve been utterly useless.
I don’t know when they changed their call centre, but it used to be quite easy to communicate with Ring personnel… it isn’t the case now. They can’t comprehend basic issues, and they lie about what is being done to fix things. I was asked to call them for an update a few weeks ago, only to be told that the update was ‘there is no update’.
I’ve been told various things when I call them, but I don’t believe the team is working on this, or it would’ve been fixed by now!

TAbsolutely.
It happened to me about 3 weeks ago after a Ring app update and as soon as it happened I tried it on my work iPhone and my son’s iPhone and it had the same issue on all three but only when I updated the app.
It was fine before the app update.
It’s very clear Ring are lying to us for whatever reason.
I mean, an app developer would be able to sort this issue easily but for whatever reason they’ve decided not to and hope we just stop asking.
But the fact is, the iOS widgets and their ease of use for my disabled wife were one one of the reasons I chose Ring for my security.
I’ll just have to switch to a different supplier.

Hi @ThirtySixteen. Thank you for bringing this to our concern. Our team is aware of an issue with the iOS widget, and are working on getting this resolved as quickly as possible. I don't have an update at this moment, but would recommend keeping your Ring app updated.
