Video Doorbell 2 - Solar Charger Status "Connected" But I Don't Have One

The subject sums up my issue. I noticed when checking the device health of my video doorbell that it now has a section labeled "Solar Charger Status" that I hadn't noticed before. It says "Connected" but I don't own a solar charger and don't have one connected to my doorbell.
This may not sound like a big issue but this discovery coincides with the discover that the battery has been completely depleted for at least 3 days even though my doorbell is hardwired. It had worked fine for over a year and half until this week. Now, I did set up linked events with my other cameras so it's possible that the doorbell is working overtime and that could be the cause, but wouldn't it at least have charged a little over the past 3 days via the hardwiring? Of course, another possiblity is that the battery is at the end of its life and needs to be replaced (I've currently got it charging on a micro USB cable so I'll see soon enough).

- GThanks for confirming that the Ring 2 app 'Solar Charger Status' is just an advertising suggestion and not an actual status indicator. I was expecting it to indicate that the Solar Panel was installed or live after I installed my Solar Panel and was concerned when it hadn't changed even in bright sunlight. I disconnected the Doorbell to test the Solar output and found it is delivering just over 5 volts which is standard USB voltage so I took that as proof that it was actualy doing something useful. Battery % eventually went up slightly confirming as much.•

- JSame issue also here. No solar charger installed but app tells me that solar charger is active. And battery charge is decreasing even though my doorbell is wired. This combination has worked without any issue for last two years but suddenly problems started few days ago. Hopefully just sw/firmware issue.•

JiOS Version 5.23.0 released two days ago does nothing to fix this problem, which seems pretty common. I have a solar charger, but the app doesn't show it. I can't really tell if it's doing anything, because my device has been at 90% for weeks (could be good, could be not so much), "Power Source" says "battery", and the Solar Charger Status says "Add a Ring solar device..." POS...•0

JI don’t know what they’ve changed, but my doorbell is no longer dropping in charge. It isn’t charging up to 100% as it had in the past, but it was 45% a week ago and now it’s at 47%. Something is quirky, but at least it’s not draining and needing to be plugged in anymore for me. Funny how they denied issues, but seem to be working on them.•0

- JSame thing here and a few more as we see it. Just got off the phone with customer service. They were polite and are sending a new battery and bracket, but totally missed the point on the new solar panel connection. I don’t have a solar panel! I asked about the latest firmware date/push, but couldn’t get an answer. Many additional posts to this issue seem to be referring to same timeframe when the issue began. RING, if you’re there and listening...please look into this. A firmware fix seems to be in order and easiest! Thanks!•

- B@ RLW ring messed up and they are so stupid that they can’t reverse the firmware update ... I’ve written enough about this. 3 years it worked perfect. End of December , firmware messed up everything. Not I have to charge every 4-5 days•

- BI'm having similar issue with my Doorbell 1 with solar sleeve. Battery drains fast since January. Solar statsus on App says "add a solar...". I contacted Support twice. What a painful experience. They put me through the script of resetting doorbell and having me go through set up again. No answer to why the "Solar status" in the app wasn't saying I had solar connected. I asked them if they could tell the Solar was even working, they had me trigger an event and they said that it was working. I asked if there was a way I could tell and they said no, but they could tell from their end. Fully charged the battery and It's been 2 days and battery is at 85%. It's been sunny both days too and temperature in the 60's.•
