I understand that if I attach the new Ring BDP to the legacy doorbell's wiring, then the legacy doorbell chime will not function.  I am thinking that I might NOT connect it to the wiring, relying on the Ring Battery operating instead.  

If I install the Ring next to the legacy doorbell, visitors might be confused as to which doorbell (Ring or legacy) to ring.  However, am I right in assuming that the Ring will record video based upon the motion detection of someone coming to my door?
