- CHi neighbors. Can you please clarify what notification sound you're trying to turn off? Are you referring to the alerts on a Ring Chime or connected Alexa device? You can control the notifications on any Chimes under Device Settings > Notification Settings > Linked Chimes. For connected Alexa devices, [Doorbell Announcements](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018032731-Doorbell-Announcement-Notifications-Through-Amazon-Alexa) can be turned off within the Alexa app.•

I am having this same issue. I want to disable all sounds on my iPhone and Chime device from the doorbell EXCEPT the actual doorbell press. I want to still see motion alert notifications on my iPhone but do NOT want to hear a sound when motion is detected. The only sound from the doorbell I want to hear on my iPhone and Chime device is when the doorbell button is pressed.

Hi @EmjayMaine. To disable the sound on your Ring Chimes, follow the steps mentioned by Caitlyn. As for getting alerts but muting the sound, follow these steps to accomplish this:
- Open the Ring app
- Choose the menu button (three lines in the upper left corner).
- Select Devices and tap on your Doorbell
- Tap Device Settings
- Select Notification Settings
- Tap on App Alert Tones
- Tap on Motions, then select Silent.
I hope this helps.

UI followed these steps for both of my cameras (doorbell and pan tilt outdoor cam), but I’m still getting chimes whenever there’s a motion alert. I want the alerts on my phone, but I don’t want noise. This is driving me batty! What am I missing?

CHi @user_7ddeeb. When you say you're still getting chimes, do you mean an audible alert on your phone, or an audible alert from a Ring Chime? Alert tones from the Ring app can be controlled under Notification Settings > App Alert Tones for each Ring device. If you're talking about a Ring Chime, you can unlink the Chime from your Ring devices under Notification Settings > Linked Devices.

CHi @user_5f53f2. Are you referring to a Ring Chime or Chime Pro, which plugs into a wall outlet, or an audible alert tone from the Ring app on your phone? There are troubleshooting steps in previous replies on this thread that may be helpful.

UYes - everytime you go out your door a chime is set off on your phone. Its annoying if you are going in and out frequently. I had this shut off at one point - successfully - but somehow the chimes came back. You can't follow the steps set forth on Google because Ring has moved/changed the navigation titles of the app. Ring - it would be really helpful if you could do step by step instructions using the current navigation titles to inform people how to turn off the notifications/chimes on their PHONE when they go in or out one of their doors.
