Ring Won't Connect
I cannot connect to the ring doorbell. It gets to 95% and then says it failed to connect. I've been at it for a couple hours. I've tried everything: rebooting, going on 2.4 network, creating a guest network, etc. You shouldnt have to do all this to connect to something as simple as wifi. If my kids lightbulb can connect to the wifi network so easily why can't this. I've never experienced tech so painful as this. Make it easier! I now have paid for a year's subscription but I'm sure I won't see anything from that.

Ring doorbell gen 2. Battery operated. Yes the battery is fully charged. The connection gets to 95% and then the doorbell says cannot connect. I'm using a Samsung phone. Latest version of ring app installed. Disabling smart network didn't work. FYI Foscam just had no issue connecting. Zero.

Hi @user_03799c. You've covered nearly all the general troubleshooting steps we can recommend. If you haven't done so already, try fully resetting the Doorbell by holding down the setup button for 20 seconds, then attempt the setup process again. I'd also suggest checking that the ports and protocols used by Ring devices are open on your network. Typically, they are, but it's possible that a firewall is configured to block one of these ports. Should you still be unable to get the Ring Doorbell connected to wifi after trying the above, the next step would be to contact our support team directly. Your inquiry may need to be escalated if it requires advanced network troubleshooting. You can reach out via phone, or on Facebook @Ring by sending a private message.

Hi @user_03799c. What is the model doorbell that you are trying to connect? Is there a specific error you are getting during the connection process? What type of phone are you using, what OS is installed, and what version of the Ring app is installed? Are you using a VPN? In your phones settings, try turning off WiFi Assist/Smart Network Switch during the setup process.
