Ring Doorbell goes off when no one is there
hardwired-video-doorbell
A few months ago my Ring Doorbell starting ringing several times a month at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. There is no one there. I have security lights that come on with motion and there is no video. This is very frustrating to be woken up from a sound sleep. Is there a way to disable the doorbell for a certain time period? Pat

I hade this happen at 4am this morning with a wireless ring doorbell. No notifications on my phone or the app. Just the ring of the bell like someone pushed the button. No motion no video. But yet it rang. Any ideas what could cause this? Can’t blame it on wiring or power surge as it’s wireless model .

Have same problem with my "wired to indoor doorbell transformer" wireless to internet Ring Doorbell.  Wife frequently reports hearing the indoor bell ring doing the night but I find no video or motion history in the morning.  I have my hearing aids out at night so I hear nothing.

        Any suggestions?

Hi @user_a8e202. Ghost rings, such as what you're describing, are typically caused by faulty wiring or a damaged doorbell button. If you've checked the wiring, and the button on the Doorbell doesn't appear to be damaged, our support team can take a closer look.

My ring is ringing itself mostly after midnight and almost hourly. No one on video and when it started happening I heard a voice say hello from my ring to me at my front door. Glitch? More like someone having fun. Not recharging the ring again.  Good riddens!!! Let’s stop making it so easy for them to monitor and manipulate.

Same here, but mostly between 10 and 11 pm. would really understand why. I thought it could be an interference with a neighbor's Ring for bell. So I asked the question on our community Facebook to see if someone has the same problem. waiting for answers.

Yes this is happing to us every one in a while (few months) usually middle of the night Rude Awaking!

The Ring is Wired and rings the House Built In Chime

Just the indoor Chime rings / Not on our Phones

Electrician replaced the indoor wired house chime

        Electrician replaced the Transformer

Well it just happened again yesterday afternoon and when I looked at my phone camera it said it was doing an update

Exactly the same thing happened to us!

The doorbell would ring about one time a month, usually late at night while we were asleep, making the dogs ( and us ) go crazy.

So yesterday we had an electrician come and replace EVERYTHING! New door chime, new transformer, Brand new RING camera/doorbell... JUST NOW, 10am, the doorbell rang! No one there, the entire neighborhood quiet, no cars or people, now wind, nothing moving such as tree branches etc.

I WISH the owner/manufacturer of RING would acknowledge that their doorbell cameras have this issue, and devise a solution.
