- EI disconnected the doorbell wires from the back of the Elite and instead connected them to a standard doorbell pushbutton switch. The in-house doorbell chime then worked just fine with the standard switch. Turns out that the round black plastic doorbell button cover on the Elite was almost cracked in half and would jam up the button, not allowing the Elite doorbell button to be pressed in all the way and ring the in-house door chime. Unfortunately, the (cracked) plastic button cover on the Elite is not replaceable. Ring is taking care of it. Best customer service ever. Thanks!•

- RI have a similar to eyeseeyou , my button is pristine on the outside and the 16v mechanical chime works when it is disconnected from ring elite and the circuit is shorted. It is an issue with the ring unit itself. Restarting does not solve my issue, very unfortunately have to install a separate switch. Have not been able to connect with customer service as it is a 45-60 min waiting time. I am Considering alternative brands•

UI just successfully interfaced the ring Elite doorbell with the Honeywell Series 9 wired / wireless, digital chime. Was not easy, because even if it is on the Ring Elite compatibility list, it possible cannot work out of the box. The ring elite doorbell button appears to the digital chime as always pushed / shorted. I checked other digital doorbell with the same result. Some answers to this problem blames the installer - shorted wires, ... The real problem is that my elite doorbell is showing about 50 Kilo ohm when not pressed. This is interpreted by most digital chimes as a short / elite button pressed. The solution was to put 3 resistors in series to one of the separate doorbell wires. I used 470 Kilo ohms resistor, plus 330 Kilo ohms resistor, plus 47 Kilo ohms resistor for a total value 847 Kilo ohms. All of them very small 1/4 Watts resistors, since there is no Voltage or Current detected, just a nuisance. Total 940 Kilo ohms was always open circuit, and 800 Kilo ohms always shorted. You should check the Elite doorbell resistance to check how many ohms it is showing and see if you can fix it the way I did. Now my chime works as it should with the Ring Doorbell Elite. At the above resistor total value, it was too flakey, depending on sun hitting the doorbell it started to constantly ring every few seconds, detecting constant pressed button. Had to replace the 47k ohm resistor to 68K ohms resistor, for total of 868K ohms. If it will be stable, so be it. If not, I will separate the circuits via transistor to create clear ON /OFF to the chime.
