- MThank you Justin for your reply. Yes I've tried doing the reset. I am somewhat convinced that the trickle charge just isn't enough to keep the battery at a neutral level while the unit is working. I mean I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to see a transformer that only gives 30ma for charging just isn't enough regardless of volts, when it takes hours for the battery to charge at 120v 2amp usb charger. I can only assume that the doorbell itself needs more than 30ma to operate, for the sake of argument let's just say it needs 1amp... well 30ma would never let it charge, it would only delay battery swap/recharge. If this unit is fine I could never see how this battery would ever last the claimed 2 months on the simplest settings, less power consuming settings when hardwired, maybe a week on battery only.•

LI had the same problem. After installing the new charger, the battery did not charge. You need to refresh the app (I would go for force stop of the app) and then you MIGHT see an increase of 1% after 4-5 hours of charging if and only if you deactivate the camera, sensing, alarms,.... so that the bell does not consume any power. What happens is that the charger capacity is just enough to activate the bell and barely give a very-very-very little charge (tickling) to the battery just to keep it at the current level it is at. The solution is to, first charge the battery as usual from any USB port until it is 100% charged (keep charging for 1 hour after it is fully charged) and then put the bell in its place and connect it to the charger. In this way you can activate all the cameras, sensors, alarms, videos, ..... and the battery will always show 100%. Now the charger will supply the bell to run with all the extra options required and trickles a little current to the battery, not to charge it but to keep it alive. If the charger is disconnected for a while, the bell will use the charger until the charger is reconnected. If when the charger is reconnected and the battery is (say) at 80%, then that level will be maintained continuously. If you want to see 100% on the battery again, then you will need to charge it again using the USB charger.

- MArmandove... You can see if you're getting Power by looking at the battery icon, if there's a lightning bolt through it, the doorbell knows it's hard wired (should be charging). Wired information is also in the health page, it will say 'hardwired'. In any case when I did a reset, it was hardwired to the house when I did it, the charging still can't keep up.•

- RMI think i have the same issue. Replaced a Ring 2 with a Ring 3. The previous Ring was hardwired for a trickle charge. See the screenshot. The new one, hooked up the same way, does not say hardwired. Instead, it says Battery. Tested with voltmeter and it read 17V. Also tried rebooting the Ring and re-installing the Ring app. Help please. •
