Hi, I’m am Foster Mum to a profoundly deaf young lady. We have had a Ring doorbell for years now and love the communication aspect (medication drops etc for our other foster children often need verbal permission so this is great). When our deaf child came to live with us we needed to have adaptions made to the house. We tried to see if there was a light or similar way to signal (even via a link with the Amazon Echo devices we have), but there is nothing that would connect. We had to make a choice and so stuck with Ring, but she lost out.
I wanted to put the suggestion forward to you to create an adaption/ addition to your doorbells for profoundly deaf people. I think it would be very popular, not just for younger generations, but also the elderly who often are hard of hearing. There are 18 million deaf or hard of hearing adults in the UK alone so please think how many people’s lives this could make a little easier.
