Why: 3 of 6 Ring Stick UP cameras going off line in the middle of the night. batteries 80%+, WIFI signal strength full, will not reconnect
Three of my six Ring Stickup cameras went offline in the middle of the night, all at the same time.
The other three continued to work just fine.
What would cause this?
All had 80%+ batteries, and the wifi never went offline. I have Cox Panaramic wifi running both 2.4 and 5 GHz.
In the AM, when I discovered this, I removed the batteries from the cameras and replaced them with fresh, fully charged ones.
None of the cameras would reconnect.
I tried pairing each again multiple times with no luck.
I called tech support and spent 41:40 seconds trying to get them to reconnect. Nothing worked.
My wifi does NOT broadcast SSID, as I have the network hidden.
I even "unhid" the network, and that did not help.
While on the phone with tech support, one of the cameras spontaneously reconnected to the network and began working. I had all three cameras in my office, 5 feet from the router, while troubleshooting.
Nothing worked on the other two cameras, including scanning the QR code and setting them up as if they were new.
All three cameras connected to the Ring App wifi fine, but will not connect to my wifi network.
Tech only responds as to why the three cameras went offline: that my wifi was bad, and to call my provider, COX. And he sent me this email:
This code will provide a 100% discount on ring.com for the purchase of a Ring Chime or Chime Pro. The code will expire on December 31st, 2025.
So her answer was to send me a wifi extender, which I did not need.
I have the Cox app and can see my network is fine, and I had no outages during the night.
This happened once more in September, when 3 cameras went offline, and after an hour of working with tech support, they sent 3 replacement cameras.
The three cameras in question are the older cameras, not the new ones.
Maybe the older cameras have reached the EOL(end of life) and need to be replaced too.
I am open to suggestions

Thank you for getting back to me.
Cam 1 RSSI 46 Distance 15 feet
Cam 2 RSSI 64 Distance 30 feet
Router on the Second floor (wood frame home), Cam 1 and 2 on the first floor.
Cam1 is directly beneath the router.
Cam 2 Down 10 feet, 20 feet horizontal from router position.
Again, 3 cameras of the 6 went down. One reconnected to the network while troubleshooting with tech support (sitting 5 feet from the router). The other two are down and will NOT reconnect to the networks sitting 5 feet from the router.
Cox Gigabit internet Down 573Mbps Up 55 Mbps

C@user_3946d0. The upload and download speeds look sufficient for multiple Ring Cameras, thank you for sharing that. What exactly happens when you try to reconnect these cameras to wifi? Is there a specific error message in the Ring app, or light pattern on the camera when the connection fails?

Utest You dont have a reply button on you last question,.
What happens when I try to reconnect to the network after setting up using the QR code like a new camera, Nothing. It gets to 95% and get a cup of copy message , waiting.... and then fails with the Retry of Cancel message.

C@user_3946d0 No worries, the reply button is on the initial comment I left, and replying to that puts your comment in the same thread. Regarding the connectivity issues you're experiencing, I would recommend double-checking your router security settings to make sure the correct ports are open for Ring devices. You might also try lowering your firewall if it's on the highest setting. If this problem still persists, the next step would be to contact our support team @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram for further troubleshooting assistance.

UAs I said many times, I have 4 cameras on the same network, and the 2 oldest ones will not connect, no matter how many times I go through the setup process. It is NOT MY NETWORK. The two cameras connect to the temporary network established by the Ring app, but fail to connect to the home network every time.
You can see by the dashboard screenshot that 4 cameras are working correctly.\ All cameras are the same relative distance from the router.
What is the best route to get to US-based support to help get the cameras replaced??
, but the two highlighted will refuse to connect.•0

Hi @user_3946d0. We're happy to provide general troubleshooting assistance, but it would be helpful to have more details first. What is the last reported signal strength for these 3 Stick Up Cams? You can find the RSSI on the Device Health page in the Ring app. What is the approximate distance between the cameras and the router in their usual installation location? What is your network's upload and download speeds?
