S
shield for floodlight cam?
floodlight-cam
If I need to place the floodlight cam in a place without any cover, basically directly exposed to rain, snow, sun, etc. Would it work? I am thinking to add some shield or cover for it may mitigate. For example, something like this: [https://www.amazon.com/DS-1250ZJ-Universal-Camera-Shield-Outdoor](https://www.amazon.com/DS-1250ZJ-Universal-Camera-Shield-Outdoor). However, I am not sure if this one is big enough for floodlight camera. Or is something like this [https://www.amazon.com/Silicone-Skin-Cover-Floodlight-Camera/dp/B07BB4C9R9](https://www.amazon.com/Silicone-Skin-Cover-Floodlight-Camera/dp/B07BB4C9R9) sufficient? Anyone has experience on a similar situation? Thanks.

Wow, 5 years and no responses, came here to get the same info. What did you end up using?

No idea why no one responds, same problem just looking for a solution. I think I'm going to fashion a cover with an old dish network dish or metal trash can lid. It's basically what is over most outdoor lights on posts. Just a disk shaped roof like cover. Mine is in a tree so paint it to match the black ring flood light camera. Just make sure the wiring is out of the way of moisture, it will trip the breaker. But I can not find any non diy solution. I didn't trust those silicon covers to keep out the weather. Some people are building bird houses type things and putting the camera in a birdhouse but I don't think that will work with a flood light, but who knows.
