Lost remaining days on Ring Protect trial

I had 27 days left on my trial. Signed up for a year plan since I had read it would apply after my trial ended. Instead my paid subscription started today and I lost those 27 free days of my trial. Nowhere does it say on the Ring website this will happen (in fact a Google search says that the subscription begins after the free trial period ends). There is also no warning when you are signing up that this will happen. And the website doesn’t show you the expiration date of the plan you are signing up for until after you have signed up. This is very disingenuous and disappointing.
