Ring app defaults to alarm rather than camera(s) when accessing history from the dashboard.

The ring app on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Android phone recently started this behavior (last few days). I uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no change. I did a search on the internet and there are a few posts on Reddit complaining about this. If accessing Ring from a web browser, History defaults to camera view.

I called Ring Support and was told that this is how it works now after a recent app update. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

To anyone else that stumbles on this post and agrees, call support and request that this "feature" revert back to how it functioned before. IMHO, this is a bug/broken and needs to be fixed. If Ring wants to "improve" the function, make the default whatever was last viewed in history. Otherwise, I would think the majority of users would prefer that their cameras come up in history rather than alarm devices.

Hi neighbors. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern. We apologize that the Event History is not loading the camera events as expected. Please be assured that our team is actively investigating the issue and working diligently to resolve it as soon as possible.

I absolutely agree!  This is a completely ill-considered usability update.  In my years of using Ring i have never once wanted to inspect the alarm history.  When I get an alert, I  want to inspect the status of my cameras quickly. Giving the user the ability to maintain the previously used camera choice would have been a much more sensible update.  FIX THIS ANNOYING CHANGE.

Absolutely agree. The ring programmers must not use the ring app, otherwise they would quickly have realized the error. Ease of use and the quick ability to view what's important to the end user is what will keep ring in business.

I too get alarms when I look at history in the Ring app. I'm upset that Ring enabled this change without any notification to the customers. When I get an alert I want to see what is happening at the camera that caused the alert. I already know there has been an "alarm". Why do I need to see a text notice when I could see the actual scene that caused the "alarm."  RING, please fix this now. At least make it so the user can chose the default action when choosing History.  Very disappointed in RING.

I totally agree! I want cameras to be my default.  Why would they change this??
