New ring app version
app-request

I have a Ring battery doorbell pro, and a Ring Chime 2. For some reason the chime stopped working tonight (the doorbell continued to work). I had to reset the modem several times, do a factory reset on the chime 3 times, but eventually got it working again. One thing it said I needed to do was to delete the app and install the latest version.Thankfully, I discovered that I had to have iOS 17 or better to get the new app, so I didn’t delete the old version.I’m still using my trusty iPhone 8, which continues to serve me well, but it’s topped out at iOS 16.7.XXSecurity concerns or not, there needs to be a way for those of us with somewhat older iPhones to continue to use the expensive equipment we’ve purchased, without being forced to spend $1,500 on a new phone!!How about a reverse-compatible app, where the user accepts its use knowing that its security is reduced compared to the new version?!?At the moment I’m back online, but I suspect I’m one power outage away from permanently being out of business.I should add that I have a multi-unit AirBNB that REQUIRES camera security…

Hi @user_5ee94c. Unfortunately, as technology advances, we have to stay current with it. With an outdated app you'll experience issues and incompatibilities. This is standard practice among most commonly used apps.
