Event History Update
Is anyone else frustrated with the new event history update?? I have 4 ring cameras set up around my house & I used to be able to go into my event history and watch all camera events in order from the time they happened. Now the update takes me to the timeline view of only one camera and I have to select each camera separately to watch all the events. This is STUPID!!! I hate this update and would like to be able to see all cameras events in one place again. The timeline view is horrible in my opinion. It often cuts off the beginning of the video when it was triggered, and I am unable to see the full video. Please bring back the old event history!!!!

Why would ring take away a perfectly GREAT feature and make it LESS user friendly for its customers?? This makes no sense to me. I want to be able to watch a single event and hit replay or rewind but the timeline view is glitchy and does not let you see the full video 99% of the time. It always lags & the video isn’t accurate.

UI also want to see all camera events in one place. I have 2 cameras in the front of my house & 2 in back. If someone is walking through my yard I want to be able to see both cameras to make sure they weren’t doing anything they shouldn’t ALL IN ONE PLACE! The timeline view per camera is very inconvenient & extremely laggy. My feedback along with all the other commenters on this post is BRING BACK THE OLD EVENT HISTORY. NO ONE LIKES THE TIMELINE VIEW.

UI'll add my 2 cents worth opinion. It was better before the change. Change it back please!

URing did this on purpose??! WHY?? The Event History Timeline was already easy enough to access. I find it hard to believe that anyone had trouble doing this. And you're right, it is very inconvenient for those (pretty much anyone with more than one device) that want to review activity from multiple devices. Before today, I've been extremely happy with Ring, but THIS UPDATE JUST LOST RING ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!

Clearly they didn't do enough research as to how their customer base views history content. If it isn't fixed soon I will be switching to another provider.

Timeline view is not a good solution for those of us with multiple devices and who like to manage each event in some way (Star, trash, etc). There used to be a way to opt out of timeline view!

Completely agree. I have 9 cameras, history is now a nightmare. Timeline was already an option for those who liked it so all they did was remove our choice. Most of my cameras are 1st generation and will need replacing in the near future. I am going to listen to friends who tell me to ditch ring and go with a better\cheaper system. This kind of nonsense just makes me tired. I certainly dont need to pay someone to cause me frustration.

- UThe new way to view cameras in history event is insane. I’ve got 5 cameras and physically having to go from one to the next means I spend more time clicking on the screens then viewing my cameras. Why did this change? UI agree! I called Ring about this and they said to post a review under the Ring App in the App store so that they developers would see the feedback. They also said to post about it in this Community like you did. I, too, want to see the history of ALL cameras in date/time order as they happened, without having to individually click in and out of every single video for my 6 cameras.

Hi there, this change was intended, and allows you to easily access the Event History Timeline. With that said, I understand it may not be convenient if you want to review activity from multiple devices. Please feel free to continue sharing feedback on this update, as well as feedback on what you valued most about the Event History page prior to the change.
