Cannot change the name of a shared location
I understand not being able to change the address of a location/ring that is shared with me. But can you allow us to change the name? My location is 'Home' and the other location is 'Home'. This causes a conflict when using Alexa to control my Ring Modes. "Home is not responding". If I change the name of my location, I can use that. But Alexa still like to try to target 'Home' which is the shared location name that I can't control. I contacted support and they said I have to have the account owner change the name so it will be updated on my side. I don't want to ask the account owner to change their name and affect them, I want to change it on my side for my reference only. Changing the name reference of a shared location on my side without affecting the shared account itself should be possible.

Please try understanding the issue being explained. We obviously know you can edit a device name. But for whatever reason, as a Shared User, you cannot add a nickname for anyone else’s locations or devices. And since there is no way to differentiate my Home - Front Door from my mother’s Home - Front Door, notifications are confusing and voice commands are just straight-up impossible. There are complaints about this on every forum possible over the greater part of a *decade* now, and Amazon has yet to do anything about it. As the first person to finally respond to the complaint, we could really benefit from you actually trying to understand the issue and forwarding it to the team that works on the app.

THi @user_f82729. The Owner of the Ring app has the ability to change the name or add a custom name to any Device. This is done in the General Settings Menu. Changes that the Owner of the device makes will automatically reflect in the Ring app for the Shared User. If you have two "Front Door" names, try changing one of the to- "Mom's Front Door" or "Front Door-1". This way, you'll be able to differentiate the different locations and devices at a glance.
