Glass Break Sensor Effectiveness With Window Tint Film
Do the Glass Break Sensors work just as effectively if windows have a tint film on the exterior of them? Would this impair the 25ft range or anything else?

I’ve wondered the same thing, especially after helping a friend get tint installed on their home windows. They used OC Tint Solutions for the film, and one thing we learned from their installer is that most modern tint films especially ceramic or non-metallic ones don’t interfere with glass break sensors at all. The sensors are usually triggered by the acoustic pattern of breaking glass, not the visibility or thickness of the film, so the tint doesn’t block the sound or reduce the sensor’s range.
My friend’s setup still tested normally at around the same distance (close to that 25 ft range you're talking about). The only time you might see issues is with older metallic films, but those aren’t really common anymore for residential installs.
So yeah, tint film on the exterior shouldn’t stop a glass break sensor from doing its job.

Hi @Joya1. I am reaching out to my team to find out if tint film on windows is an issue with our Glass Break Sensors. Once I have an update, I will make sure to post it here.
