U
VERY DISAPPOINTED
troubleshooting

Very disappointed in the overall performance and service of Ring. 1st I purchased a ring indoor camera from Amazon and a Ring outdoor floodlight camera. The Ring indoor camera stays offline more and more, Amazon wouldn't do anything and told me to contact Ring. Before I could contact Ring about the indoor camera the outdoor floodlight camera started having issues with water leaking into the camera. This past week so much water leaked in that the camera went offline and even after restarting my modem did not resolve the issue. Fed up, I contacted Ring and sent in via email pictures from the app, the customer service rep was less than hospitable telling me to go outside and take pictures of the camera to determine if there was water in the camera. I explained the camera was 20 feet in the air and he said climb a ladder, I then explained my husband was 72 and I was 65 and couldn't climb a ladder he said well get someone else. Finally having enough, my husband told him he was being unreasonable and we hung up. The rep called back and said he was sending us another floodlight camera as a "one time courtesy" and asked if we needed anything else. While we did  receive the replacement i have to now pay someone a person second $75 to change out the floodlight.

NO SOLUTION PROVIDED BY RING AND CANNOT FIND AN EMAIL ADDRESS.

Hi @user_773727. I'm sorry to hear you had this experience. Part of our return policy is we require troubleshooting to determine the root cause of the issue, or to verify an issue. In your case, we needed to verify there was water in the lens, and not another issue. However, I'm happy to hear you got a replacement as a courtesy.

Lastly, I know you said your camera was mounting "20 feet in the air". I wanted to advise you that this is an improper mounting height for this device. The ideal height for mounting is around 9 ft. At 20 ft, your device is likely going to miss lots of motion events. You can find more information about this here
