I’m having an issue with one of my Ring stick up cam 3rd gen battery version not charging from its solar panel.The Ring app shows that the solar panel is connected/recognized, but the camera battery percentage does not increase or appear to charge. I installed a brand-new battery, but the issue remains.

To troubleshoot, I tested the exact same solar panel, cable/connector, and general charging setup with another Ring camera of the same model. That other camera recognizes the solar panel and charges normally. This makes me believe the solar panel, cable, battery, and sunlight exposure are working properly.The problem appears isolated to this specific camera. It can detect that a solar panel is attached, but it does not actually receive enough power to charge the battery.

Troubleshooting already performed:

• Installed and tested a new Ring battery.

• Confirmed the solar panel is shown as connected in the Ring app.

• Tested the solar panel/cable setup on another same-model Ring camera.

• Confirmed the same setup charges the other camera normally.

• Ensured the solar panel has direct sunlight exposure.

• Reconnected the solar cable and checked that the connection is secure.

• Restarted/rebooted the camera and removed/reinserted with multiple different batteries

Could there be an issue with this camera’s solar charging port, internal charging circuit, or power-management hardware? Please let me know whether there are additional diagnostics I should run, whether the camera may qualify for replacement, or whether it needs to be serviced.
