My wired Ring video doorbell failed completely after just over 3 years of normal use. It was properly installed and hardwired, and it stopped powering on without warning.

Given the price and how it’s marketed, a ~3-year lifespan feels unreasonably short for a permanent home fixture — especially when traditional wired doorbells last decades.

I’ve also been disappointed with customer support response times, which so far feel slow and drawn out rather than clearly stating whether this lifespan is considered normal or what customers should expect post-warranty.

Is ~3 years the expected service life for a wired Ring doorbell, and has Ring published any guidance on this?
