Where to file complaint?
Where can I file a complaint regarding false advertising of the Ring subscriptions? I have the ring multi subscription and everywhere on the website and in the app stats that video history is available up to 180 days. Nowhere does it state that the default is only 60 days and you need to manually go into your app for each camera to up date the settings to set it to 180 days.
When calling support they said that the videos have been deleted and there is no way to recover them. Is this accurate and why is there no language stating that you need to update this manually?

Yes, but no where on the website or in the fine print when you sign up for a subscription does it state that the default is only 60 days in the US. How is the subscriber to know that they need to change the settings when you are not prompted or told that you will need to update it. I see it may be in the help center where you can change the settings but why would I look in the help center when I am signing up for the year plan and it says 180 days. The only way someone is going to figure this out is when a crucial video is needed and they realize that the 180 days was a lie. If this becomes a legal matter is Ring going to somehow find the videos?

THi @user_9115c2. I understand the frustration this can cause. All settings in the Ring app are user configurable and are left up to the user to configure them to what best fits their needs, as there is no "one size fits all". Thank you for this feedback.

Hi @user_9115c2. Yes, video storage is available up to 180 days, with the default storage time in the US being 60 days for most devices. We have information regarding the video storage time options, including instructions on how to change this setting, in our Help Center. Once a video has been deleted, it cannot be recovered. I always advise downloading any videos you want to keep to either your phone or computer.
