Hi all, I'm not after any assistance, just posting this as it may help someone else in a similar situation. I use a Ring Doorbell and have an electric lock (12v AC) fitted to my pedestrian gate (no intercom system). I purchased the Ring intercom in the hopes of using it to remote unlock my gate. After playing around with the Ring intercom to understand how it works I've successfully managed to achieve my goal. Here's what I did: Setup the intercom within the Ring app and selected Bell System 801 as the intercom system. This sets the intercom type as 'Analogue FDX'. I skipped the testing part. Now for the wiring I used cable set A and the 2 wires I needed to use were A1 and A5. Here's a diagram of how I've wired it up:  Basically the Ring intercom acts as a remote controlled switch. The circuit is open until the unlock button is pushed within the Ring app, the circuit is then closed for a few secs sending power to the lock (unlocking it).
