Firmware updates keep bricking older devices
We have ring cameras at our personal and rental properties, but we are now looking into getting rid of all of them and getting a different system. Perfectly functional devices keep getting bricked by updates, and will not connect to wifi no matter what we do. This has now happened to 3 of our devices (doorbells and cameras) - working perfectly one moment, and then next they're worthless. Ring's suggestion is always to purchase a new device, maybe with an insulting discount offer. At this point it seems to be an intentional move to force users to buy a new device. It's unreasonable to have to replace devices every couple of years, on top of the required subscription fee. There currently is no incentive for us to replace the bricked devices and lock ourselves further into the Ring ecosystem, when we know they will need to be replaced very soon. Ring will push customers away, if they continue to force devices into obsolesence.

Hi @user_f87a0f. What specific devices are you having issues with? I'd be happy to assist you with any issues you are having. Is there a specific error you're encountering when trying to connect to wifi?
