Please add an option to control how long the Ring doorbell camera is automatically displayed on Echo Show and Echo Hub devices after a doorbell press or person/motion announcement.

Older-generation Echo Show devices appear to keep the automatic doorbell video on screen for approximately 60 seconds or longer. On newer Echo Show and Echo Hub devices, however, the automatic video feed disappears after only about 10–15 seconds.

This isn't just an inconvenience — the short timeout can create a genuine accessibility problem for seniors and people with hearing or mobility limitations.

My parents are a good example. They don't hear the doorbell as well as they once did. By the time they:

• realize that they heard a doorbell rather than something on the television,
• get out of their chairs,
• turn toward or walk over to an Echo Show/Hub,

the 10–15 second video has often already disappeared.

At that point, there is no longer any visual indication that someone is at the front door. They may assume the sound came from the television and never realize someone rang the doorbell.

I've tried working around this with Alexa Routines using "Show [doorbell]," but this is not a practical substitute for the native Ring announcement functionality. The native Ring integration can automatically display the doorbell feed on numerous Echo screens simultaneously. Multiple routines requesting Live View do not behave the same way. In my testing, one display generally works, two can become unreliable, and with three or more simultaneous routines only two displays typically receive the video. I've even had displays lock up and require a power cycle.

The native Ring/Alexa functionality already does the difficult part correctly: one doorbell event can automatically display the camera on all selected Echo Show/Hub devices. We simply need control over how long that automatic video remains visible.

Requested Feature

Please add a configurable Automatic Live View Duration setting for Ring announcements on Echo Show and Echo Hub devices.

For example:

15 seconds / 30 seconds / 60 seconds / 2 minutes / Until dismissed

Even simply restoring the approximately 60-second behavior of older Echo Show devices would be a significant improvement.

Ideally this could be configured per Ring device or per household, allowing customers to choose the duration appropriate for their needs.

Why This Matters

Ring doorbells combined with Echo Show and Echo Hub devices can be particularly valuable for seniors, people who are hard of hearing, and people with limited mobility. The visual notification lets someone see that a visitor is at the door even when they don't clearly hear the doorbell.

But that accessibility benefit is largely lost when the visual notification disappears before the person has enough time to notice and look at the screen.

Please consider making the automatic Ring Live View timeout user-configurable. The older ~60-second behavior worked much better for this use case, and giving customers a choice would preserve the faster timeout for people who prefer it while providing a much-needed accessibility option for those who need additional time.
