Ring doorbell and camera guy here. I'd like to see Ring build an official connector for Meta's Muse AI assistant.
Meta opened the Muse Connector Platform on September 18 — muse.ai/platform. A company describes its product, goes through functional, security, and legal review plus end-to-end testing, and lands in the Connectors directory. Built on a hosted MCP endpoint or a raw API with OAuth/PKCE. The path is there, Ring just has to take it.
There's a good team-up in it, too. Ring's AI already watches the video and tells me what's happening — person at the door, package delivered. A Muse connector wouldn't replace that, it'd build on it. Ring's AI sees, Muse acts: fold it into the rest of the house, answer "who was at the door while I was out," run routines I already approved.
Day to day that means doorbell presses, motion alerts, and alarm changes reaching my assistant the second they happen — plus stuff I authorize like arming/disarming or pulling up a clip.
Alexa already has real Ring access, and Ring built that. AI assistants are turning into the main way people run their smart homes. I'd rather keep it in the Ring family than duct-tape it together with workarounds. Getting in early puts Ring ahead of that instead of chasing it.
Happy to beta test.
