Hi @user_7b31b0. Smoke & CO Monitoring is optional, and requires a compatible subscription. You can review the process for both a smoke and CO alarm with monitoring enabled here.

I started to set up the new Kidde smart smoke/co alarm in Ring. I immediately ran away from this when I discovered that the app would initiate calls to emergency services. RUN AWAY FROM THIS mindless notification that will bother your local fire department with every false alarm. An adult needs to contact emergency services not a mindless phone app.
