Two Batteries, which one is low?

Question

When the app shows one of my batteries low in my security cam (say the right side), is that the right side from the back of the camera (if I go to remove it) or from the front of the camera?   And does a ring camera pull power form one battery at a time? I have two batteries but one usually depletes before the other.....

It's left and right as you are facing the front of the camera.
