Feature Request: Option to Schedule Motion Alerts for Specific Hours
Hi Ring Team and Community,
I wanted to share a feature suggestion that could make motion alerts more convenient and flexible.
Right now, my Ring Floodlight Cam Plus sends motion alerts 24/7, which is great — but I often get a lot of unnecessary notifications during the day when we’re at home. It would be extremely helpful if Ring allowed users to schedule motion alerts for certain time windows (for example, only between 10 PM and 6 AM).
Here’s what I think could be valuable:
Ability to set motion alert schedules per device (similar to motion zone settings).
Option to pause alerts automatically during selected hours.
A simple toggle to override the schedule temporarily (for special cases).
This would make it easier to balance security with convenience — especially for users who get frequent motion triggers in high-traffic areas.
Would love to hear if anyone else feels this would be useful or if there’s a current workaround I might have missed. Thanks!

Hi @kkshah. We do already have a Motion Schedule feature, which allows you to schedule periods of time in which you do not want to receive motion alerts from your Ring device. It does not have all the options you outlined in your post, but you may find it helpful if you want to cut down on notifications during certain times. I have moved your post over to our Feature Request board, which we use to gather feedback on the Ring app and Ring devices.

I’d like to second this suggestion and add that I’d love customizable alert settings PER zone. It’d be amazing if my second or third motion zones had their own options and schedules for alerts and recording.
for example: I have my default zone set to record and alert 24/7. But I want additional zones to only record at certain times of the day, or send alerts at only certain times, etc. being able to customize these settings by zone instead of an all-or-nothing setting would be incredibly helpful!
