I know Ring already offers the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam, which provides smooth 360° coverage and allows users to control the camera remotely through the Ring app.

My suggestion is to take this camera one step further by adding an AI-powered automatic person tracking feature.

When the camera detects a person, it would automatically follow them as they move around the room, without requiring the homeowner to manually control the camera.

How it could work

👤 A person enters the camera’s field of view.

🧠 AI identifies the movement as a person.

🎯 The camera automatically locks onto the person and begins tracking them.

🔄 The Pan-Tilt camera smoothly follows their movement, keeping them in the center of the frame.

📱 The Ring app sends a notification letting the homeowner know that a person has been detected and is being tracked.

🏠 If the person moves across the room, the camera continues following them automatically.

↩️ Once the person leaves the area, the camera returns to its original or preferred viewing position.

Features that could make this even better

• Turn automatic tracking on or off from the Ring app.
• Select specific areas where tracking is allowed.
• Create privacy zones where tracking is disabled.
• Use AI to distinguish between people, pets, and other movement.
• Adjust tracking sensitivity.
• Receive a notification when automatic tracking begins.
• Allow the homeowner to take manual control of the camera at any time.
• Integrate the feature with Ring Alarm.
• Save a short video clip of the event that triggered the tracking.

Why I think this would be a great addition to Ring

The Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam already has the hardware required to move around a room and provide 360° coverage. Adding intelligent automatic tracking could make the existing camera much more useful without requiring new hardware.

Instead of simply detecting motion and sending a notification, the camera could actively keep the person in view while the homeowner receives the alert.

This would be especially useful when no one is home. If someone enters a room, Ring Follow360 could automatically follow their movement and give the homeowner a much clearer picture of what is happening.

I believe this could be introduced as a software and AI feature for the current Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam and future Ring Pan-Tilt cameras, adding significant value to hardware that customers already own.
